Where required, GLS may rely on consent for matters such as certain marketing communications, optional cookies or tracking technologies, publication of an identifiable testimonial, or another use for which consent is legally required.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent, subject to applicable law. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before the withdrawal.

Some cookies are necessary for the website, member accounts, dashboards, or security features to operate. Other cookies, including certain analytics or marketing cookies, may be optional and may require consent under applicable law.

You may be able to manage cookie choices through the GLS cookie banner, your browser settings, or controls provided by the applicable third-party service.

Disabling necessary cookies may prevent portions of the Services from functioning properly.

Third-party providers and integrations may use their own cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

6. Marketing Communications

Where permitted by law, GLS may use your contact information to send information about courses, training, educational resources, events, offers, company news, and related products or services.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting GLS.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent GLS from sending necessary non-promotional communications, including account notices, purchase confirmations, receipts, course-access information, scheduling communications, security notices, support responses, contractual notices, and legal or policy updates.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the nature and duration of the relationship, account status, legal requirements, contractual obligations, limitation periods, payment-provider requirements, and legitimate security or enforcement needs.

Closing an account or requesting deletion does not require GLS to delete information that GLS must or may lawfully retain for legal, security, transactional, evidentiary, recordkeeping, or enforcement purposes.

GLS may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

8. Data Security

GLS uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

These measures may include account authentication, access restrictions, security monitoring, trusted service providers, recordkeeping controls, and confidentiality obligations.

No electronic transmission, online storage method, or security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your login credentials, maintaining control of your email account, using reasonably secure devices and networks, and notifying GLS promptly of suspected unauthorized account activity.

9. International Data Processing

GLS is established in the United States and uses service providers that may operate or store information in the United States and other countries.

Personal information may therefore be transferred to, stored in, or processed outside the country in which you are located. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.

Where required by applicable law, GLS or its service providers will use an applicable lawful basis, safeguard, or transfer mechanism for international processing or transfers.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Where GLS processes personal information for direct marketing, you may object to that processing at any time.

Where GLS relies on legitimate interests, you may have the right to object based on your particular circumstances.

To submit a privacy request, contact:

contact@gilgameshlanguagesolutions.com

GLS may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, account, authority, or jurisdiction before responding.

GLS will respond within the period required by applicable law.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.

If you are located in the United Kingdom, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

You may contact GLS first so that we have an opportunity to address your concern, but doing so does not limit a right to contact an applicable authority.

11. Children’s Privacy

The GLS website, member accounts, and self-directed purchasing functions are intended for adults and are not directed to children under thirteen years of age.

GLS does not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under thirteen without appropriate authorization.

GLS may provide language training to a minor through a parent, legal guardian, school, organization, or other authorized arrangement. In those circumstances, GLS may process information reasonably necessary to administer and provide the service.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact GLS so the matter can be reviewed.

The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, platforms, applications, or services.

This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of those third parties. You should review their privacy policies before using their services or providing information to them.

GLS may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in its Services, business practices, technology, providers, security practices, or legal obligations.

Revised versions will be posted on the GLS website with an updated “Last Updated” date. Where required by applicable law, GLS will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially different processing begins.
